Victory Day Golf’s Colorful inauguration by ABG Bashundhara

The winter sun had not yet peeked over the horizon. But the golfers have come out one by one in the green yard of Kurmitola Golf Club. Occasion ABG Bashundhara Victory Day Golf Tournament. About 650 golfers from all golf clubs of the country including local and foreign members of Kurmitola Golf Club participated in the event.

This three-day tournament, which started on December 13, was officially inaugurated by Kurmitola Golf Club Vice President and Bangladesh Army Master General of the Ordnance Major General Md. Zahirul Islam. Apart from the honorable members participating in the tournament, Safwan Sobhan, Vice Chairman of Bashundhara Group, Mustafa Azad Mohiuddin, Director of ABG Bashundhara,  Club Captain Brigadier General. Mahbubus Samad Chowdhury, Club Tournament Director Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (Retd.), Club Chief Executive Officer Colonel Md. Shahidul Haque (Retd.) along with senior officers of Armed Forces and Bashundhara Group were present on the occasion.

Speaking about sponsoring golf, Safwan Sobhan, Vice Chairman of Bashundhara Group said, ‘Basundhara Group has always been associated with sports. Golf has a good potential in the country. So we stand by golf to advance golf. Bashundhara Group is building Bashundhara Sports Complex to promote all kinds of sports in the country, he also brought forward that example. The Bashundhara Group has built a sports complex. Everything from futsal, hockey, cricket stadiums, football stadiums are there. All sports played in Bangladesh are arranged under one roof. Apart from this, Bashundhara has started working on the driving range. This driving range will be launched by next August.

On December 17, ABG Bashundhara Victory Day Golf Tournament will be the official award ceremony. Chief of Army Staff General S.M Shafiuddin Ahmed will present the prizes to the winners as the chief guest.
