East West Media Complex attacked, vandalized
Staff Reporter: The attack by miscreants on the country’s leading media house East West Media Group complex last Monday has sparked a storm of condemnation and protest across the country. Around 2.30 pm on Monday, a procession of hundreds of people suddenly attacked and vandalized East West Media Group located in Bashundhara residential area. During this time, 20-25 cars kept in the media premises were extensively vandalized along with office tables, computers, ACs.
The footage of the attack was obtained from the CCTV footage of the institution. After reviewing the CCTV footage, the images of the attackers have been released. None of the attackers appeared to be students. So who are they? Meanwhile, after the incident, the students visited the place and said that the students were not involved in the attack on the media. These attacks are carried out by some miscreants to protect their own interests. Students are ready to stop attacks on media.Independent University of Bangladesh coordinator Tari said that those who attacked here are not students. We have all moved. We never want our country to be harmed, our people to be harmed. We are with people. People trust us. Media is the fourth pillar of the state. We strongly condemn the attack on that media.
Coordinator of North South University Hasibul Hossain Shanto said that those who are still trying to attack and riot are miscreants. We think that these attackers are friends of dictatorship in Bangladesh, which was created by the mass uprising of the students. We have also spoken to the coordinators about this. We will discuss with the law enforcement agencies as soon as possible and bring them under the law. Our clear message is that there will be no more place for criminals in our new Bangladesh. We would like to appeal to all who are common students, if you see miscreants anywhere, tie them up and hand them over to the law.
