Staff Reporter: The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) headquarters and Dhaka Centre jointly hosted a reception to honour outstanding students from engineering families who demonstrated academic excellence in this year’s public examinations.
The event took place on Monday (22 December 2025) at 3:30pm at the IEB auditorium in Ramna, Dhaka.
A total of 205 students who achieved commendable results in SSC, HSC, O Level and A Level examinations were awarded crests and certificates at the ceremony.
IEB President and RAJUK Chairman Engr. Mohammad Riazul Islam (Riju) attended the event as chief guest. The programme was also graced by Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Engr. Md Khalekuzzaman Chowdhury, IEB Acting General Secretary Engr. Muhammad Ahsanul Rasel, and Dhaka WASA Superintending Engineer and IEB Central Council Member Engr. Almgir Hasin Ahmed as special guests. said press release
IEB Dhaka Centre Chairman Engr. Md Helal Uddin Talukdar presided over the ceremony, while Dhaka Centre Honorary Secretary Engr. K M Asaduzzaman conducted the programme. Vice-Chairman (Academic & HRD) Engr. Abdullah Al Mamun delivered the welcome speech, and Vice-Chairman (Administration, P&S W) Engr. Md Kamrul Hasan (Uzzal) offered a vote of thanks.
Among others present were IEB Vice Presidents Engr. Khan Monjur Morshed, Engr. A T M Tanvir-ulHasan (Tamal), Engr. Sheikh Al Amin, Engr. Niaz Uddin Bhuiyan, along with Assistant General Secretaries Engr. Md Mahbub Alam, Engr. Md Nur Amin, and Engr. Sabbir Ahmed Osmani.
Applauding the learners for their accomplishments, speakers at the programme emphasized that children from engineering families are well-positioned to contribute to the country’s scientific and technological advancement.
They encouraged the students to build their careers with integrity, ambition and a commitment to national development.
The honored students expressed their determination to contribute to the nation’s growth and progress in the years ahead. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of crests and certificates to the award recipients.
