MetLife – Global Citizen Launch “Footwork for Futures” Social Media Challenge

Staff Reporter: MetLife, in collaboration with Global Citizen, has launched Footwork for Futures, a global football-themed social media challenge aimed at expanding access to quality education and sports for children and youth, helping build more confident and resilient communities.
The initiative invites people across Bangladesh and around the world to share a short video of themselves juggling or attempting to juggle a football on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X, using the hashtag #FootworkForFutures.
For every eligible video submission, MetLife will donate USD 5 to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, up to a total of USD 100,000, to support community-based organizations that provide education and sports opportunities to children globally.
This campaign builds on the MetLife Foundation’s broader commitment of USD 9 million as a founding donor of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports grassroots programs that combine learning and sports development.
“Football has the power to unite communities, and when combined with education, it becomes a powerful force for creating opportunity. Through Footwork for Futures, we want to make it easy and fun for people in Bangladesh to contribute to a meaningful global cause.”, commented Ala Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer, MetLife Bangladesh.
Participation is open to everyone, regardless of skill level or experience. Individuals are encouraged to showcase their creativity, whether they are experienced players or simply trying something new for the first time.
The campaign runs from May 12 to July 19, 2026, or until the donation target is reached. All videos must follow the rules of the respective social media platforms and the campaign’s Terms & Conditions. To be eligible, each video must clearly display a real person safely and responsibly juggling (or attempting to juggle) a soccer ball. Global Citizen reserves the right to disqualify any entry that fails to meet these standards. For more information on how to participate visit Footwork for Futures website.
