40 receive certificates after complete training at Bashundhara Language and Skill Center

Holiday Post: 40 participants received certificates after successfull competition of training at Bashundhara Language and Skill Development Center (BLSDC) in South Keraniganj of the capital.

They received their certificates after undergoing 60 days of practical training under the Comprehensive Rural Development Program (CVDP- Phase III) run by the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. The certificates were handed over to the trainees in a grand ceremony at the BLSDC auditorium on Sunday.

The chief guest at the ceremony was Deputy Project Director of the Comprehensive Village Development Program (CVDP) Md. Touhidul Haque. Keraniganj Upazila Rural Development Officer Mohammad Taibur Rahman was present there as the special guest. In-charge of Bashundhara Language and Skill Development Center (BLSDC) Major (Retd.) Md. Golam Haider delivered the welcome speech.

The two-months training program was conducted at the BLSD Center in Bashundhara Riverview Project where the participants acquired effective skills in Plumbing and Pipe Fittings (Level-2) as per the needs of modern industry.

In this program, participants gain training on: Application of safety and health procedures in the workplace; effective communication and teamwork skills in a professional environment; knowledge of using tools and power tools for pipe installation; pipe jointing, water supply and wastewater pipeline installation; plumbing fixture installation and maintenance.

In this program, Bashundhara Language and Skill Development Center has emphasized on hands-on training along with theoretical knowledge, which has made the participants fully prepared for work in the industry.

The chief guest of the program, Deputy Project Director of the Comprehensive Village Development Program (CVDP), Md. Touhidul Haque, said “The Comprehensive Village Development Program is a unique project in Bangladesh. Its beauty is the selection of trainees. The trainees are selected through cooperative societies in the villages. The capital of the village people is accumulating through the cooperative society and the economic driving force is getting expanded. Through this project, the employment of unemployed youth is increasing. Through this project, the villagers are coming to the cooperative workers to know how to train their children and make them skilled.”

Stating that the general cooperatives of the village have applied for the extension of the project, he said if the project’s operation time is increased, we may bring the cooperatives here again in the future. And we will continue to try to include the activities in Keraniganj Upazila in the next phase.

Keraniganj Upazila Rural Development Officer Taibur Rahman said, “We train unemployed youth through the project. The government is spending a huge amount of money to make you skilled. If we can convert unemployed youth into skilled manpower, the wheels of the economy will be set in motion, and the country will get benefit.”

Stating that the youth are being trained in 38 subjects under the project, Taibur Rahman said, “You will contact the Upazila Rural Development Board office. Promote the government’s initiatives.”

He thanked Bashundhara Group for cooperating with the government and providing training to unemployed youth.

In his welcome speech, BLSDC In-charge Major (Retd) Md. Golam Haider said, “The government is trying to make the unemployed youth skilled— skilled in technical education. If they are sent abroad, they can earn money several times. They will play a huge role in the economic progress of the country. I believe that they will get a definite priority in the job market with this training.”

Among the trainees, Mashiur Alam spoke about is experience. He said, “We have become skilled with the two-month training. We thank Bashundhara Group for being by our side. In addition to training in a pleasant environment here, they also gave us a playground.”

Afzal Hossain, Raihan, Ibrahim of Shariatpur, Ismail Molla, Sagar, Tariqul Islam, Md. Siam, Ali Ashrafi, Faruk Hossain, Mohsin Uddin, Manik Talukder, Mohammad Ullah of Madaripur received awards for their success during the training
