Community Bank and BASIS Sign MoU to Strengthen Support for ICT Entrepreneurs and Startups


Staff Reporter: The Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. and The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), at the BASIS Boardroom. This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in enhancing financial and banking support for Bangladesh’s ICT sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from Community Bank Bangladesh PLC., including Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge); SK Perves Maraker, Head of Agent Banking, Foreign Remittance, Transaction Banking and Strategic Business Unit; Hossain-Al-Safeer Chowdhury, Head of SME; Zahir Ahmed, Head of Cards; Md. Mamun ur Rahman, Head of ADC & Head of MD’s Coordination Team and Md. Al Amin Sumon, Manager, Agent Banking Division. says press release,
The event was honored by Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Joint Secretary, Local Government Division and Administrator, BASIS. Other distinguished attendees from BASIS included Mustafa Rafiqul Islam (Duke), Mushfiqur Rahman, Md. Rowshan Kamal James, A H M Rokmunur Zaman Rony, Mohammad Abdul Majid, Md. Jewel, Ferdosh Alam, and Syeed Zahid Hossain, all Associate Committee Members of BASIS.
Under this MoU, Community Bank and BASIS will jointly introduce a suite of tailored financial solutions for ICT entrepreneurs.
To further advance the ICT ecosystem, the partnership will support skills development, regulatory compliance training, market access initiatives, and the establishment of an ICT Export Accelerator, enabling local enterprises to connect with global markets through secure and efficient payment solutions.
