Lokman Hossain hopes Information on investment services will be more secure


Staff Reporter: Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman (Senior Secretary) Mr. Lokman Hossain said, In today’s technological world, information is power and information security is critical. There is no alternative to investment development to build a better smart Bangladesh. BIDA is always committed to providing investment services and other information security to investors.
As a result of the implementation of the MoU between BIDA and BCC, all data including IRMS will be transferred to the National Data Center of Bangladesh Computer Council. Through which the information of investment related services will be more secure.
Lokman Hossain Mia said this while speaking as the chief guest at the MoU signing ceremony with Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) held at BIDA’s conference hall.
Khandaker Azizul Islam Secretary of BIDA said, BIDA OSS Act was passed in 2018 with the aim of providing all investment services to investors from the same platform with the aim of building a better Bangladesh. In view of which BIDA OSS activities started in 2019. Meanwhile, we have signed MoUs with 48 institutions, among which we are currently providing 113 investment services to 38 institutions.
At this time, he also said that so far BIDA OSS information was stored on the server of Business Automation. As a result of today’s MoU signing, all Bida OSS and IRMS data, including hosting, will be secured at the National Data Center.
In the event, Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar said, as a result of this agreement, NDC and BCC will work together in the storage and protection of BIDA OSS and IRMS data.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the secretary of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Khandkar Azizul Islam and Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar.
Representatives of Bangladesh Computer Council, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited, Digital Security Agency were present on the occasion.
