Gandhi statue vandalized in Italy before Modi’s arrival

Narendra Modi is coming to Italy on Thursday to attend the G-7 summit after becoming the Prime Minister of India for the third time. And the Khalistani supporters vandalized the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Milan before the Prime Minister of India stepped foot. Modi was supposed to unveil the statue during his visit to Italy. And the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is quite angry about this incident. The matter has already been brought to the attention of the top officials of the Italian Foreign Ministry by New Delhi.
The G-7 Summit is going to be held from June 13 to 15 at an elite resort in Aptulia, Italy. US President Joe Biden, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Melanie, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are also present at the conference.
In addition to the Russian-Ukraine war, the Gaza-Israel conflict is also discussed. However, diplomatic observers believe that the G-7 summit will not bring much importance to world politics. Only the Prime Minister and Heads of State will have photo sessions.
However, before Modi set foot, there was a commotion over the vandalism of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Italy. Apart from vandalizing the statue, the altar has also been inscribed with the name of slain Khalistani militant Hardeep Singh Nirjar. Slogans were also written against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The statue was quickly renovated by the Indian Embassy.
