Staff Reporter: The Student Banking Conference 2026 was held at the Zilla Shilpokola Academy in Tangail with enthusiastic participation from students and Banking professionals. The event was organized under the overall supervision of Bangladesh Bank, with Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. serving as the lead Bank.
A total of 34 Banks and around 200 students from different educational institutions in Tangail took part in the conference. The program aimed to raise awareness among students about banking and to help them understand the crucial role Bank accounts play in supporting their future education and financial security.
The conference was attended by Mr. Md. Iqbal Mohsin, Director of the Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank, as the Chief Guest. Special Guests included Ms. Kazi Mutmainna Tahmida, Additional Director of the same department; Mr. Md. Imrul Hasan, Assistant Director; Mr. Md. Akram Hossain, Assistant Director of Bangladesh Bank, Mymensingh Office; and Mr. Md. Harunur Rashid, District Primary Education Officer of Tangail.
Among other notable attendees were Mr. Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC.; Mr. Hossain-Al-Safeer Chowdhury, Head of SME; Mr. Sarfuddin Md. Redwan Patwary, Head of Operations; Mr. Abdul Majid, Head of Audit; Mr. Sharif Hasan Mamun, Head of Agriculture.Students, representatives from participating banks, and other distinguished guests were also present at the event.
During the conference, speakers highlighted the importance of financial inclusion, the need to develop savings habits from an early age, and the benefits of engaging with the banking system. They emphasized that having a bank account is a key tool in ensuring students’ future education and overall financial stability.
To encourage participation, T-shirts, caps, bags, and crests were distributed among the attendees. Winners of the quiz competition received special prizes. The programme also featured cultural performances by students, including poetry recitation and musical presentations, which added vibrancy to the event. says press release
